why MMJ?

Media convergence is a beautiful thing.  Chances are if you familiar with modern journalism you are familiar with the acronym "MMJ", or Multimedia Journalist.  Well, I put my own twist on MMJ- Multimedia Maven Journalist.  So what's the difference you may ask?  Check out my breakdown below:

multimedia maven.

Like many self-identified social media addicts like myself, I have a hard time distancing myself from my iPhone, iPad, or computer for any extended period of time.  I like to always be in the know and connected to what is occurring on local, national, and international levels.  I am fascinated by the ease of connectivity and the instantaneous ability to gather news, communicate with anyone, and even make purchases.

journalist.

I believe a journalist is anyone who can tell a story for an audience.  Thus, I am a journalist.  A journalist is someone who knows what questions to ask and how to ask them.  Much to some traditionalists' dismay, in the internet age, anyone can be a journalist.  In a matter of seconds anyone on Twitter can report a breaking story or post a blog on any topic of interest
